Exploring UWE Bristol this September

Bonjour, Aloha, Nǐ hǎo, Hello… To all the UK and international students moving in to accommodation and starting courses at UWE Bristol this September.

It’s Move In week here so what better way to familiarise yourself with your new home than by getting lost on (sorry, exploring) campus.

We recommend heading to the Students’ Union with your new housemates, finding your teaching block (departmental building) and checking out all the amazing facilities UWE Bristol Sport has to offer.

The Centre for Sport alone is home to a fully equipped gym, aerobics studio, climbing wall, sports hall, squash courts and all-weather pitch allowing you to take part in a range fitness and sporting activities.

We have a range of memberships available from an unlimited Active Card to Gym Only as well as personal training and exercise programme design allowing you to achieve any health or fitness goal you set.

The Frenchay Campus is also home to Wallscourt Farm gym and Performance gym, open term time only and W Block a new facility with rowing, dance, DOJO and physio specific zones.

If you play a sport and are looking to join a club, we have just invested over £4.5 million in two brand new, state of the art facilities, Hillside Gardens (opening Autumn 2018) and Lockleaze Sport Centre. These are dedicated facilities for Team UWE sports clubs to train and compete with grass and artificial pitches, club houses and spectator areas.

New for 2018/19, the SU and UWE Bristol Sport have teamed up to create MOVE, an all-inclusive programme of over 30 sports and activities. For just £40 for the year, you can access an unlimited number of these sessions as well as join courses for a small additional cost.

So what’s stopping you? Start exploring the Frenchay Campus and come to the Centre for Sport for a tour and more information.
